As a “foreigner in London” (my husband will argue this), I love Marks and Spencer. It is eminently English, selling comforting jumpers, jam and, lately, cinnamon-scented Christmas decorations. To me, it’s the retail equivalent of having a cup of tea and a biscuit in your Mum’s kitchen. Followed by a hug.
Given all of this, I have been quite excited over the last few years to see their style improving, particularly with their Autograph range which I am mildly obsessed with: classic styling with a modern twist, good tailoring, quality fabrics and decent prices. They should be paying me really.
