After chatting on twitter for a while, I finally had the chance at a networking evening organised by Louise from b.loved weddings to catch up in person with the very lovely Ciara Mullan who runs Dita Florita, an absolutely gorgeous new online shop selling stunning, one-of-a-kind original vintage wedding dresses. Ciara hand picks all the dresses in her shop and her sense of style and glamour really shine through in the selection on offer and the beautiful imagery on her site.
Here is what Ciara herself has to tell us about Dita Florita:
Dita Florita is a brand new online vintage wedding dress boutique, combining original vintage dresses with a truly modern service. We are the UK’s first online boutique to offer vintage wedding dresses for sale on a fully returnable basis. We understand that some brides are looking for an alternative to the traditional wedding dress shopping experience. With our service you can purchase your dress online, sit back and wait for it to be delivered (on average within 3 working days) and try it on in the comfort of your own home. What’s more, you can keep your dress for up to 10 days, so no hasty decisions are needed!
Coupled with our commitment to dragging the vintage wedding dress trade into the 21st century, we firmly believe that your dream wedding dress need not cost the earth. All of our vintage gowns are sourced on the basis of quality, style and cost, with the aim of offering our brides a truly unique dress, steeped in history, for an affordable price.
The images are from a styled shoot we were recently involved in and which featured on Rock n Roll Bride. At the time that the concept for the shoot was being discussed there was a lot of talk in the industry regarding the popularity of all things “vintage” and whether this was a fleeting trend or a lasting niche in the wedding market. Photographer Laura Babb suggested that the shoot could illustrate how vintage dresses could be incorporated into a modern wedding and stylist Meryl Tabner of Home Grown Bride set about coordinating our “Modern Vintage” shoot.
